Design Competition #2 & Excellence in Green Building Education Awards

There is another 2009 competition that may be a nice overlap for Casey MS and CU Boulder at http://www.cefpi.org/i4a/pages/index.cfm?pageid=3550 but it appears we may have missed critical deadlines since it is for the school year and should have been started in Sept http://www.cefpi.org/i4a/pages/index.cfm?pageid=3596 . Still it may be worth looking into.

Also, it looks as though there are on-going grants that may be applicable:

Excellence in Green Building Education Awards

This program identifies high quality, educational programs, integrating green building across curriculum to serve as models and a resource for other educators.

Incentive Grants
USGBC supports the development of new curricula and education programs that advance the organization's goals of achieving sustainable cities and communities, elimination of the built environment's contribution to climate change and natural resource depletion, and growing the green building marketplace. in 2008 awards of up to $20,000 were distributed to six education programs serving K-12, community and technical colleges, and 4-year college and university students.

Recognition Awards
This program honors outstanding models for using the built environment as the context for learning. Recognition Award submissions were judged on demonstrated success, ability to be replicated, scope of influence, advancement of green principles within the educational community and the fostering of a collaborative or interdisciplinary approach. Award winners will create the backbone of USGBC's Green Education Database.

Read about 2008 Grant and Award winners on the Best Practices in Green Education page.
How can I apply for an USGBC Excellence in Green Building Education Award?
USGBC will release an updated Request for Proposals in the upcoming months. Please check the Educators Resource Center for information regarding this program. The awards program is an important aspect of working to meet the goals outlined in the U.S. Green Building Council's 2009-2013 Strategic Plan. Future award winners will need to clearly demonstrate the way their program compliments USGBC's efforts in these important areas of work. Review the 2009-2013 strategic plan (PDF).

Anyone have the time to follow up on this further?
